About this guide

The Forex News Trading Guide is an educational resource about trading economic news releases in the forex, gold and index markets, with a focus on execution speed, automation and risk control.

Who writes these guides

The guides are written and reviewed by the Westernpips Research Team, the developers of Westernpips Private 7, a multi-terminal for fast-feed and latency-sensitive trading. Because we build trading software, we say so openly: Westernpips Private 7 is the only software discussed on this site.

Editorial policy

  • Every page opens its key sections with a short, direct answer, followed by the detail behind it.
  • We describe mechanics and risks, not promises. No page claims guaranteed or typical profits.
  • Release times and market behavior are described in general terms; always confirm the current schedule in your economic calendar and your broker’s trading hours.
  • Pages are reviewed and updated when market structure, release schedules or product features change. Last review: .

Risk statement

Leveraged trading carries a high level of risk. News trading in particular exposes you to slippage, spread widening, requotes and gaps. Some brokers and prop firms restrict trading around news or latency-sensitive strategies. Read your broker’s terms, start on a demo account, and never trade money you cannot afford to lose.
